Or so the "Welcome to Harrietsham" booklet tells me. Ancient it certainly is with records dating back to Saxon farmers in 950AD. Modern Ideas seem to be appearing, with plenty of new buildings springing up all over the village lately. The village is bigger than ever, with more pupils in the village primary school than ever before! Despite the growth of the population within the village over recent years, there is still a sense of community for those who wish to join in with village life. Perhaps a sign of the times is that whilst 25 years ago with a much smaller population, the village supported 4 pubs and a workingmen's club, we are now down to one pub and the club, with one bar closing recently that had been selling beer for over 300 years.

The village is situated in the S.E. of England, halfway between the towns of Ashford and Maidstone. For those of you who have the Encarta World Atlas we are easy to find, as Harrietsham would seem to be a unique name with only one location listed, US!!!!!!
